How do you end the year confidently?

So December is here, again. As the year is drawing to an end, you could be thinking another year is passing soon and you have many goals not accomplished. And the more you look at your checklist, the more you feel overwhelmed by the self-inflicting blame and you hear yourself saying.. “you procrastinate too much” “why can’t you get all the things done” “look at how many things still outstanding” “why can’t you get it right?” “you didn’t lose that 10kg” “you didn’t get that promotion” “you didn’t make that much money you said you want to make” No matter how much you’ve accomplished, there was more waiting to be done. No matter how much you’ve done, you were never good enough. Why do you think many high achievers often feel not good enough no matter how much they have accomplished? Having worked with this group of people, I noticed two common practices that ripped them off their confidence.
  • They would generously blame themselves for the FEW things not done, and stingily acknowledging themselves for ALL the things they have accomplished.
  • They would blow up the mistakes they did and dismiss the things they did right. As if, success is a given. But failure is a big No No.
If the above practices sounds familiar to you, perhaps it’s time to change it.This year, I’d like to invite you to end your year differently, to end your year confidently. So how do you end your year confidently? You celebrate your success!!Of all the coaching processes I have, this is definitely my favourite step because celebrating your success is like stacking up your confident stairs. Every small win represents one confident step. The more you celebrate your success, the higher the confident steps you can stack up, which means, the bigger your capacity to accomplish greater success.step up_growwithrainy_life coach_confidence coachCan you imagine how much more you can be and do with the confidence stairs you built? When you celebrate your success, you tell your brain that you love what you have created and you want more of that experience. It allows you to reinforce your feel-good experience and therefore will propel you to accomplish more in your life. Wouldn’t it be great if you can have a constant flow of motivation from within? The key to having a never-ending flow of motivation is to constantly celebrate your success, not just on a year-end!So here are the top ten ways you can celebrate your success and end your year confidently. These are the top ten ways that I and my coachees love to practice!

Top Ten Ways To Celebrate Your Success and End Your Year Confidently:

1. Write a love letter to yourself.

Tell yourself how specifically you appreciate your efforts this year, how you have shown resilience, courage, patience to the challenges you have faced this year.

2. Tell the people who have helped you in your journey how much you appreciate them.

Add a small token of appreciation to make their day.

3. Get some presents for yourself.

If you have been shopping for gifts for your loved ones, don’t forget to get some gifts for yourself too. After all, you are the most important person in your world. When you love yourself, you can love others abundantly.

4. Go for a silent get-away, a solitude with yourself.

It is in solitude that you get to listen to your higher self. You have your own GPS guiding you in your path, but you can only listen to it when you can de-clutter your mind and have a quiet time with yourself.

5. Take some deep, long breath

* Breath in success, blow out disappointment * Breath in joy, blow out frustration * Breath in love, blow out fear

6. Make a photo collage

Look at the memories you have created this year, the relationships, the laughter, the support you have given and received. As you look and count the memories you have created this year, you would be amazed at how much you had actually accomplished.

7. Create a Greatness Scorecard

What have you done great this year? What have you done right this year? How have you helped yourself and others overcome the odds and be a better person this year? What compliments did you receive? What encouragement did you give others? Keep a count of every single thing that have gone well this year because you face your fear and didn’t give up.

8. Be kind to yourself

Forgive yourself for your past mistakes. You can’t change the past, but you can change your present and your future. Socrates once said, “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new”.

9. Practice Constant Self-Reflection

Ask yourself these coaching questions: * What do I love about this experience? * How did I overcome my fear? * What do I feel most confident about? * How can I do better in the next round?

10. Pay It Forward

There is no better way to spark joy than to pay it forward, don’t you agree? Most people are waiting for others to make them feel grateful, joyful and loveable, but you are a special one. You know that when you take the initiative and give what you want to feel, you get it back multiple times. That sense of gratitude, love, and joy adds to your confidence, that life is beautiful and can only get more and more beautiful with every impact you made. In Authenticity & CourageRainy the Rainmaker
